Stuffing and Springs offers a specialist traditional reupholstery and antique furniture restoration service. We use traditional re-upholstery methods to restore beautiful old chairs to their former glory. If you have a family piece that has been passed down through the generations and is now showing its age, a great auction find that needs a new lease of life or simply need a new look by changing the fabric, then we can help.

What we do

We believe in keeping traditional skills alive and in the art of recycling. Traditional upholstery is a craft dating back centuries and a well upholstered chair will last for many decades. A chair that was well made in Victorian or Edwardian times may only now need re-upholstering for the first time. Good new upholstery will last just as long. As you will see from the "what is traditional upholstery?" page this is a skilful craft which takes time, but gives both my clients and myself great satisfaction when a piece is transformed from being worn out into a item of beauty. The frame and upholstery creates the structure of a chair while the top fabric can change its look completely. Antique furniture does not have to look dated and the top fabric can be as modern or as traditional as you like.
